Dr. Sandeep Kumar

Dr. Sandeep Kumar

Biography

Dr. Sandeep Kumar earned his B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He joined SSS-NIBE as scientist in 2022. He has been studying the use of waste biomass (lignocelloluisic), to value added chemicals such as 5-HMF, levulinic acid, gamma-valerolactone and rare sugars (allulose) through chemical catalysis route. He has also worked on lignin transformation to energy molecules as a value addition step for biomass refinery. Ultimately, his research interest is todevelop an integrated process for the complete utilization of different biomass fraction for future energy demands.
